This pioneering book presents exciting opportunities for the creation of new textiles through the use of three dimensional textile fibre assemblies. It provides textile industry professionals with a comprehensive account of the different types of 3D fabrics and their associated structure, properties, manufacture and modelling. Particular emphasis is placed on the most important 3D fabrics: multi-axial warp knits and multi-layer woven fabrics. The book provides examples of how three dimensional fibres can be applied in textile products, ranging from reinforcement of composites to automotive and medical applications.Jinlian Hu is a Professor in the Institute of Textiles and Clothing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
