This completely revised edition of the Atlas of Limb Prosthetics, the definitive reference work on the surgical and prosthetic management of acquired or congenital limb loss, retains the authority of the previous editions and adds new information on advances in surgical and prosthetic techniques. Like previous editions, this text also addresses both adult and pediatric concerns. In addition to chapters that address the difficult decisions regarding indications for amputation vs. limb salvage for trauma, peripheral vascular disease, and tumors, new chapters on future developments such as hand transplantation and osseointegration have been added. This new edition includes hundreds of new illustrations, and the discussion of pediatric issues has been completely reworked. Indications for prostheses for amputation levels are fully described, as are rehabilitation approaches for each level. First and second editions of this text were published by Mosby under the title 'Atlas of Limb Prosthetics'.
