Dictionary of Nursing

This dictionary provides the user with a range of the vocabulary currently being used in health care situations that is likely to be encountered by nurses and other health care professionals in their daily work. The areas covered include the technical language of nursing practice. Patient care, diseases and conditions, anatomical terms, drugs, surgery, psychiatry and other specialisations. Many informal and everyday terms commonly used by patients in describing their condition are also included. More than 11,000 words are explained in clear, straightforward language. Pronunciations, uncommon plurals and some grammatical notes are provided. Illustrations of some basic anatomical terms are also included.
