Jackie Alcalde Marr

Jackie Alcalde Marr joined Sacramento State in 2014 and teaches leadership courses at the College of Continuing Education. She is the founder of Evolutions Consulting Group, providing business consulting, facilitation, and coaching to individuals and teams.

Jackie says the pace of change can be overwhelming and stressful these days. In her workshops, she has participants practice “mindfulness” as a way to manage stress, “to slow down and let go of the noise and reconnect with what’s most important.” In practical terms, she says a person’s well-being can cut down on health care costs, but more importantly, individuals “have a greater sense of purpose at work.”

Before going out on her own, Jackie was the director of organization and talent development for Oracle Corporation, and a consultant for leadership and organization development with Electronic Data Systems.

Jackie holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and psychology from Sacramento State, and a master’s degree in human resources and organization development from the University of San Francisco. She serves on the board of the International Coach Federation’s Sacramento Chapter and is an ambassador for the Folsom Chamber of Commerce.

Jackie is the co-author of Social Media At Work: How Networking Tools Propel Organizational Performance. She lives in Folsom with her husband and two mischievous mutts.
