East - Central Europes Position within Europe. Between East and West

This book, prepared under the auspices of the Joint Committee of UNESCO and Comte International des Sciences Historiques (CISH), contains various texts related to the broadly understood theme of Central Europe?s place in European space between the (European) West and East. It prepares the anticipated debate on this subject at the CISH world congress in Sydney in July 2005 and contains materials from both the Lublin November 2003 session and the East-Central European session of the General Conference of Polish Historians held in Krakow in September 2004.
