Purifying Proteins for Proteomics

This substantial text provides researchers with detailed descriptions of laboratory methods used to prepare proteins for proteomic analysis using chromatography and electrophoresis. Six chapters are also included for the analysis of purified proteins prior to structural proteomics, with topics including analytical ultracentrifugation, measuring conformational stability, protein characterization with mass spectrometry, and analyzing carbohydrate from glycoproteins. Each chapter is clearly organized in outline form and includes discussion, methods, troubleshooting, and protocols.
