Sean Ellis: Kubrick the Dog

Kubrick, named after American film director Stanley K., was the mosthandsome, amiable, original, and talented dog of all time - at least in theeyes of his owner, British photographer and filmmaker Sean Ellis. Kubrickwas a Hungarian Vizsla and the photographer s constant companion from hisbirth in 1998 until he developed cancer and died in 2009. Thanks to hisnatural elegance, Kubrick was predestined to become a photo model, and soonhe was posing alongside the world s most famous models - and often stealingthe show from them. Kubrick The Dog is a very personal scrapbook. It is acompilation of the best photos of Kubrick taken by Sean Ellis during thedog s 12-year life - from a clumsy puppy to a gray-haired adult marked byillness. British fashion designer Stella McCartney, who posed many timeswith Kubrick, wrote a small, moving text for her departed companion - hereulogy as it were - which prefaces the photographic homage to a beloveddog.
