Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire in northern England, Miles Roddis retains his South Yorkshire accent. Eternal traveller Miles lived in many diffrent countries (Pakistan, Laos, Sudan, Egypt, Jordan and Iran) when he worked for the British Council. At the age of 50 (he is now 70), Miles settled permanently with his wife in Valencia, Spain. But he did not put his backpack away: for the past 15 years he has travelled the world to the delight of readers of Lonely Planet. His bibliography is impressive: over 50 titles, including five on Spain and especially Valencia.
