Autor
I’m a reporter, journalist and independent filmmaker. I also work in print and radio.

I’ve covered subjects including violence against women in Mexico, child trafficking in Haiti, the dog skin trade in Thailand, the impact of drought in sub-Saharan Africa and the stigma of diseases such as leprosy and HIV/AIDS.

I’ve reported for the BBC, The New York Times, CNN, USA Today, PBS, TIME, Al Jazeera, Voice of America, Deutsche Welle and others.

Some of my reporting projects have been supported by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.

I was trained as a journalist on the BBC’s respected Journalism Trainee Scheme, following a career as a travel writer, during which I authored four books. I have a master’s degree in law from the College of Europe in Belgium and a bachelor’s in law from Durham University in the UK.

I can speak French fluently and have a good working knowledge of Spanish. I’ve completed a Hostile Environment and First Aid Training (HEFAT) course, for reporting in hostile environments.
